How to Rename a Phone Number in Calilio?

To rename a phone number in Calilio, open Settings, then My Numbers. Open the menu at the end of the business number's row, then click Number Settings. Click Edit beside the name, change the Friendly Name in the dialog that opens, and click Save.

Step 1: Open the number's settings page

In the Calilio web app, click Settings, then click My Numbers under NUMBERS.
Open the menu at the end of the business number's row.
Click Number Settings to open the settings page for that number.

Open Number Settings on the business number you are renaming.

Step 2: Click Edit beside the name

The name and the number appear at the top of the page, under Number Details.
Click Edit on the right of the Number Details card.
Edit opens a dialog rather than editing the name in place.

Click Edit on the Number Details card.

Step 3: Change the Friendly Name and click Save

The dialog is titled Edit Profile, and it contains a Change Friendly Name section.
The Friendly Name field shows the name the business number uses now.
The field is marked required, so you cannot save a business number without a name.
Type the new name, then click Save. Click Cancel to close the dialog without changing the name.

Type the new name in the Friendly Name field, then click Save.

Expected result

The new name appears above the digits on the My Numbers page under Settings.
The Number Details card on the number's settings page shows the new name.
The number itself does not change, so your calls and messages continue as before.

Does renaming a number change what your customers see when you call them?

No. The friendly name is a label for your own workspace. What the customer you call sees is set separately, under Caller ID, which has its own card on the number's settings page.

What makes a good name for a business number?

Name the business number after its purpose rather than the country it was bought in. A name such as Sales, Support, or Billing tells your team member which number an incoming call is on. A country name on its own does not do that once you own more than one number in the same country.

Where does the name appear?

The name appears anywhere the business number is listed: the NUMBERS column on the My Numbers page under Settings, the sidebar list for every team member it is assigned to, and the number picker where you choose which number to work from.

Can I rename a business number directly from the list?

No. The row menu on the My Numbers page under Settings offers Go to Conversation and Number Settings only, so you rename a business number from its own settings page rather than from the list.

If a new name does not appear after you save, refresh the page first. If the old name still persists, contact our support team with the business number and the name you set.
