How to Port a UK Number to Calilio

If you're looking to port your UK number to Calilio, here’s a simple guide to help you through the process. Below are the necessary steps, requirements, and important information to ensure a smooth porting experience.

Portable Numbers

You can port the following types of UK numbers to Calilio:

  • Geographic (Local) Numbers: (+441, +442)
  • Mobile Numbers: (+447)
  • Non-Geographic (National) Numbers: (+443)
  • Non-Geographic (Toll-Free) Numbers: (+44808, +44800)

Restrictions

Voice-Only Capability: Most international numbers (except mobile numbers) support only voice services. Mobile numbers support both voice and SMS.

Porting Limitations: While most numbers are portable, in rare cases, some numbers cannot be ported due to how service providers assign phone numbers or the absence of porting agreements with major network operators.

Required Information

Before submitting your porting request, ensure you have the following:

For Geographic (Geo) and Non-Geographic (Non-Geo) Numbers:

  • Letter of Authorization (LOA): Dated within the last 30 days. If you're porting both Geo and Non-Geo numbers, you must complete separate LOAs for each type.
  • Regulatory Compliance Documentation: As required.
  • Copy of Your Most Recent Phone Bill.
  • Service Address: Can be located anywhere in the world.

For Mobile Numbers:

  • PAC Code: Provided by your current mobile network provider.
  • Regulatory Compliance Documentation: As required.

Timeframe

After submitting all the required documents:

Geographic (Local) and Non-Geographic Numbers: Porting can take up to 4-6 weeks, depending on the complexity of the request and the response time of your current service provider.

Mobile Numbers: The process typically takes 10-15 business days.

Regulatory Bodies

Porting in the UK is regulated by The Office of Communications (OFCOM).

Common Reasons for Port Rejection

Incorrect Postcode.

  • Single vs. Multi-Line Geographic Numbers: Numbers associated with a range must be ported together. To determine whether your number is single-line or multi-line, consult with your current provider.
  • Incorrect Current Provider or Range Holder Information: Confirm these details with your current provider to avoid issues. You can check the range holder, but only your current provider can confirm the correct provider details.
  • When filling out the LOA, include your current provider's information in the "Current Operator" field and leave the "New Operator" field blank.

How to Submit

Submit your porting request to support@calilio.com with all required documentation attached. Our team will review and guide you through the next steps.
